Cancer Immunotherapy

Activated Lymphocyte Therapy(LAK Therapy)This treatment is expected to attack cancer by culturing and expanding Cytotoxic T Cells — which play a crucial role in eliminating cancer cells — and returning them to the body. It is expected to help prevent recurrence, suppress disease progression, and improve QOL. Because the patient's own lymphocytes are used, side effects are extremely rare and the therapy can be applied to almost all types of cancer. Treatment Flow A blood sample (20–40 ml) is drawn, and lymphocytes are isolated using a special method. IL-2 and anti-CD3 antibody are then added, and the cells are cultured for approximately 2 weeks. The culture medium is then removed and the cells washed; the lymphocytes — now expanded approximately 1,000-fold — are returned to the body via intravenous drip. ![]() From blood draw to infusion takes approximately 2 weeks; depending on immune status, it may take up to 3 weeks. The number of sessions is determined through consultation with the physician. Treatment Duration & Frequency
. Risks & Side Effects As immune cell therapy uses the patient's own immune cells, mild fever or rash may occur in some cases, but no other side effects are observed, and there is minimal burden on the body. Because side effects are extremely rare, treatment can be continued while maintaining quality of life. Treatment Outcomes at Our Clinic We have patients with Stage IV lung cancer who have lived normally for approximately 10 years. We have also seen many cases of tumor shrinkage on CT imaging, improved tumor markers, and improved QOL. |
