Vitamin C Therapy & Alpha-Lipoic Acid Therapy (Antioxidant Action)

As a form of antioxidant therapy (donating electrons), we administer Vitamin C and Alpha-Lipoic Acid.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C exerts a powerful antioxidant effect by undergoing oxidation itself, producing hydrogen peroxide in the process. This therapy takes advantage of the fact that normal cells can neutralize the hydrogen peroxide, while cancer cells cannot and therefore die off.
Vitamin C also activates lymphocyte function and increases interferon, which has antiviral activity. It thereby enhances immune capacity and helps prevent infections such as the common cold and viral illnesses.

Vitamin C
At our clinic we use injectable Vitamin C (50% ascorbic acid, 25 g / 50 ml / vial) manufactured by Mylan, a pharmaceutical company with a factory in Ireland.
It is the only formulation adopted in clinical trials in the United States and Canada, with guaranteed safety.

 * There is a risk of hemolytic attack when receiving ultra-high-dose Vitamin C infusion, so a G6PD screening test is required beforehand.

Risks & Side Effects
(1) Infusion-site pain: relatively common. Related to the amount of Vitamin C (osmotic pressure), infusion speed, and vascular condition. This is managed by warming the area or slowing the infusion rate.
(2) Nausea or headache: occasionally observed side effects, related to infusion speed and the patient's general condition. Addressed by slowing the infusion rate.

Alpha-Lipoic Acid
Alpha-Lipoic Acid is a powerful antioxidant that is rapidly absorbed in the body and can quickly neutralize reactive oxygen species. It also regenerates other antioxidants such as Vitamins A, C, E, and glutathione, and activates the immune system.
alpha-Lipoic Acid
The Alpha-Lipoic Acid injection used at our clinic, ALPHA LIPOGAMMA 600 mg, is certified as a pharmaceutical product in Germany.

Risks & Side Effects
Pain at the injection site; rarely, hypoglycemic symptoms (cold sweat, chills, tremor, palpitations, etc.)

Immunostimulant Therapy

An immunostimulant is a drug that nonspecifically enhances immune function in the body. It is used to mitigate the reduction in immune function caused by anticancer drugs and to boost the current immune status.

Risks & Side Effects
Hypersensitivity (rash, urticaria, fever): 0.1–5%
Gastrointestinal (nausea, vomiting): 0.1–5%
